Bengaluru, 5 December 2025:
Bengaluru-based lawyer Advocate Owaiz Hussain S has filed a formal complaint before senior Karnataka police authorities seeking the registration of an FIR against Mr. Aryan Khan for allegedly displaying an obscene gesture at a public event in the city.

The complaint has been addressed to the DGP & IGP of Karnataka, the Commissioner of Police, the DCP of Central Division, the Inspector of Ashok Nagar Police Station, and the Karnataka State Women’s Commission.

Email Sent to Police Authorities a Night Before

According to Advocate Owaiz, he had already sent an email on the previous night to the DCP and other senior officers, urging immediate action after the viral video surfaced online. The physical complaint submitted today reiterates this request and seeks formal registration of an FIR.

Allegations Based on Viral Video

The complaint states that on 28 November 2025, during a party at a Bengaluru pub under Ashok Nagar Police Station limits, Aryan Khan was allegedly seen showing his middle finger toward members of the public. The video has since gone viral and has been covered widely by media outlets.

Advocate Owaiz asserts that the act took place in the presence of several women, describing it as indecent, humiliating, and insulting to the modesty of women.

Other Individuals Seen in Video

According to media reports referenced in the complaint and circulating online, Aryan Khan was accompanied by Zaid Khan, son of Karnataka Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, and Mohammed Nalapad, son of BDA Chairman NA Harris, at the time of the incident.
In the viral video, both Zaid and Nalapad appear to be laughing when Aryan allegedly makes the gesture.
The complaint, however, focuses solely on Aryan Khan’s act and seeks action specifically against him.

Public Reaction and Questions of Equal Treatment

Despite the intensity of reactions online, no police action has been officially confirmed so far.
This has sparked public debate on social media, with many users questioning whether individuals from influential families receive different treatment under the law. Several users have commented that if a common citizen had done the same, the response from authorities “would have been immediate.”

Advocate Owaiz highlights this concern in his representation, stating that failure to act could undermine public trust, normalize obscene gestures in public spaces, and set a harmful precedent for youth and minors.

Past Precedents Cited

To support the need for FIR registration, the complaint cites earlier cases, including:

A February 2025 incident where a man was arrested in Bengaluru for showing a middle finger at a woman near Gopalan Mall.

Judicial precedents where courts have treated such gestures as insulting to the modesty of women under penal laws.

Relief Sought by Advocate Owais Hussain

The complaint urges police to:

1. Register an FIR against Aryan Khan under relevant BNS provisions.

2. Seize and verify all video footage and CCTV recordings.

3. Record statements of women and other witnesses present at the venue.

4. Issue notice summoning the accused for questioning.

5. Conduct a neutral, unbiased investigation free from influence.

Filed in Public Interest

Advocate Owaiz states that the representation aims to protect public morality, uphold women’s dignity, and ensure equality before law. He emphasises that “no individual, irrespective of status or celebrity privilege, should be allowed to behave indecently in public spaces in Bengaluru.”

Police officials have yet to release any statement regarding action on the complaint. Further updates are awaited.
