Supreme Court Advocate Hussain Mueen Farooq Congratulates CP Radhakrishnan on Being Elected as Vice President of India

New Delhi, September 9:

In a significant political development, C. P. Radhakrishnan has been elected as the Vice President of India, securing a decisive victory in the Vice Presidential election. He succeeds Jagdeep Dhankhar, who resigned in July 2025 due to health reasons.

Following the announcement, Supreme Court Advocate Hussain Mueen Farooq extended his heartfelt congratulations to Radhakrishnan, expressing immense pride at his old friend’s elevation to the nation’s second-highest constitutional office.

Advocate Farooq recalled that his friendship with CP Radhakrishnan began decades ago, through an introduction by Former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Shri L. K. Advani ji. “That meeting marked the beginning of a bond built on respect, values, and a shared vision for the nation,” he said, adding that it was a moment of personal joy to witness Radhakrishnan’s rise to such a historic position.

“CP Radhakrishnan ji has always stood as a leader of values, vision, and integrity. His election is not just a personal joy for me but also a proud moment for the country. I am confident his tenure will strengthen democratic institutions and inspire future generations,” Advocate Farooq stated.

Radhakrishnan, the NDA nominee, won with 452 votes, defeating the INDIA bloc’s candidate, Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, who secured 300 votes. As Vice President, he will also serve as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, playing a pivotal role in parliamentary proceedings.

The congratulatory message from Advocate Farooq not only reflects their enduring friendship but also highlights the respect that CP Radhakrishnan commands across political, legal, and social circles.
