Confident Group Chairman C.J. Roy Dies by Suicide at Bengaluru Office

C.J. Roy, the founder and chairman of the well-known real estate company Confident Group, was found dead at his office in Bengaluru on Friday. He was 57 years old. Police have confirmed that the preliminary investigation suggests death by suicide.


According to officials, Roy was discovered with a gunshot injury inside his office premises located in central Bengaluru. Staff members alerted the authorities after hearing the sound, and he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.


The Bengaluru Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the incident. Forensic teams examined the scene and the body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Officials stated that all aspects, including personal, professional, and financial angles, are being examined.

C.J. Roy was a prominent name in the real estate sector, with Confident Group having multiple residential and commercial projects across Karnataka, Kerala, and other parts of South India. He was also known for his involvement in the entertainment industry and had produced and sponsored several popular television shows.
